The FAMU SAET welcomes Jonathon K. Stevens as a guest critic in the Fall 2021 3rd year design studio. Stevens was born in the Midwest of the United States and spent his formative years in San Diego, California. The ecological citizenship of Southern California and its proximity to the ocean, mountains, and deserts helped to define his strong respect for the natural environment. After earning a Bachelor’s of Architecture from Woodbury University, he worked for over fourteen years for many of the top architecture and design firms in Southern California. In 2014, Jonathon moved to Detroit to receive a Master of Architecture degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Recently, Jonathon has developed an art and design practice that believes in being present, fostering elements of sustainability, cultivating relationships, and responsibly/ critically look forward more than looking back.
